I am very upset with this seller. I placed a order the walking foot about a weeks ago and it arrived yesterday. I was excited to open the package because I really wanted to finish my quilt blankit as fast as I can.
Too many problems with this machine and the various tips.First, the instructions that come with the machine are horrible.The instructions with the machine for the 1" tip tell you to cut your strip 1-7/8" yet the Simplicity YouTube video states you cut your strip 2" and also says you have to spray starch all the bias seams so that they will feed properly.Gee, like I really want to have to starch every seam in my bias tape?
I've been looking for an easy circle skirt pattern that I could use over and over, and this definitely fits the bill. It took me about two hours to make my first skirt, but I added a few embellishments that made the process a little more complicated. I believe that if one makes their skirt exactly as described in the directions, then it would probably take an hour or so at the most.
although this didn't work for what i wanted it for, i think it will work for hemming, haven't tried it yet

Got here in a timely manor. Works just fine. The part I didn't like was the shipping. Gigantic box for that small item! Box wouldn't fit in my mailbox and I have a standard sized mailbox. Two day USPS bag would have been sufficient. Oh well!
Put on the correct machine, it worked very well. In fact I have sewn about 7 "market skirts" - dirctions for doing so for a little girlwas on the internet as a free-bie , and another site told you how to make it fit an adult.Both little and big turned out well.
I purchased this machine 6 weeks ago.I researched for months, read loads of info about so many machines, of all types and prices.I learned of the brand Janome through a friend who uses a Bernina.She had sewed on one and really liked it.After reading more info on the Janome website, it seemed that for a very reasonable price this machine might be just fine. For a basic model it is loaded with featutes.I have a lot of experience sewing, and know that most of the time I just need a good solid machine, not full of bells and whistles that will rarely be used. Most other sources have this machine priced much higher.Out of the box the start up is quick and simple, manual very easy, very clear.I was sewing in about 20 minutes after getting it out of the box.It is quiet and powerful. Very beautiful stitches.Easy operation.I am impressed.My main reason for this purchase was to get my daughter a good machine.After buying this one I really like this Janome, and would buy again.Maybe Amazon will start to carry more models of Janome. I will check back in after I have done more projects on this, and let people know how it goes. I definately am content thus far. The only reason for four stars is that I have not used the buttonholer yet, or put in a zipper.
I'm no an expert at sewing but have had some good experiences with an older rock-solid Singer zigzag.This machine is the basic do-it-yourself entry-level zig-zag walking foot capable of handling heavier fabrics and sails.It is nearly identical to those sold under many different names.God luck deciphering which ones are made in China or Taiwan, the latter supposedly a bit better made.A fine-tuned version (at a significantly higher price) is available from Sailrite (beware some of the sleight-of-hand discounters selling that brand though Sailrite themselves are highly reputable).
I've had this machine for a couple of months now, and it's great.I've always enjoyed sewing, but whenever my cheap machines would jam. the bobbin thread would run out, or one of any number of other bothersome things happened, I would quit.The HT2008 automatically takes care of a lot of those things and makes the others simple and quick to take care of.The feet are easy to change, the bobbin is easy to fill from a separate spool, it feeds evenly, the tension takes care of itself...It's also sturdy and attractive.I'm very glad I spent the extra money to get this machine instead of a cheaper one.It does just what I need.
Tension was perfect right out of the box. It is plastic cased, so I am treating it gingerly compared to the hefty metal machine on which I learned to sew. Very easy to thread and wind bobbins. The manual has very clear illustrations. However, it requires some flipping through as each series of steps is printed in several languages. Very enjoyable, and I look forward to using it. I hope with care it lasts a good long time.
This item was on sale so I ordered it. They came back saying they no longer had it. However the same company relisted it for a higher price. Not happy.
I've had this machine for just under a year, and it has happily sewn through all that I've thrown at it, and that has been a lot.From simple skirts and vests to soft toys, it hasn't missed a beat, and is easy and quick to use.It comes with a good selection of feet, and has a large range of useful customisation for sewing with needle placement, stitch length and even maximum speed for sewing - useful for the small fiddly pieces.
I am a beginner - the last time I sewed was in home economics class more than 20 years ago - yet this machine is extremely easy to use.The machine itself has good illustrations embossed on it, which direction the thread goes, that kind of important stuff.No need to pull the manual out all the time.This machine is much, much easier than I remember machine sewing being. Nothing jams.The materials and build are not flimsy and cheap and plasticky the way the lower end Brothers and Singer machines are.I was scared to buy this modelbecause of the dearth of online reviews.However, this purchase has been an example of when the brand speaks for itself, Juki being the sewing machine brand used by every tailor shop around me.They did not skimp on quality on this model, though its price point suggests it's intended for residential, non commercial use.
I purchased this sewing machine as a gift for my grand-children.When it arrived, I checked it out to make sure it worked well and was a good machine for them.I read the manual to learn about its' features and made all the stitches on a scrap of material.The machine is quiet, runs smoothly and makes beautiful stitches, plus it is lightweight and easy to transport.
This set is great, it has the most commonly used feet, such as buttonhole, button foot, narrow hem foot, zipper foot, a low shank adapter, a quilt guide, a seam ripper,blind stitch foot, among others, but after I bought it here on Amazon from this seller, i went to Ebay and saw this same set a little cheaper and with the addition of the cording foot,which is not on this set, but overall this set is a good buy for the price and it iscompatible with most snap on style sewing machine feet, and if not it comes with the adaptor, overall recommended!!!
