Juki MO-735 2-Needle, 2/3/4/5 Thread Serger Review

I researched for nearly two years before deciding on getting the Juki MO735 5 thread two needle serger with coverstitch. What I found with the Juki is a solidly build mechanical machine that has all the stitches I wanted in a serger but most importantly, the quality of stitches that are superb, balanced and even. It is easy to thread compared to other brands without the jet air. The lower looper has a threading helper built into the machine which places the thread exactly where it needs to be in a hard to reach elbow of the looper. It is very easy to switch to rolled hem, a simple switch slides the stitch finger to a narrow setting, an adjustment to the cutting width, stitch length made for fast conversion. It has lay-in tension discs which aid in the ease of threading this machine. I find the standard tension setting to work for most of the stitches which means there is near zero fiddling with the tensions to get the stitches to look balanced, there is an not auto tenion featute. If I sew with heavy threads or fabric, then adjustment is necessary and to be expected. Although I have not used the chainstitch yet it's threading looks to be straight forward. Coverhem is also beautiful. At first I had trouble with threading for coverhem but that was more to operator error than the machine. The machine comes with two packs of needles. The Juki uses both household 103/705H and JLx2 needles. The household needle capacity is a huge bonus as it is hard to find the JLx2. A nice vinyl pouch with accessories comes standard including spool caps, thread nets, screw driver, and coverhem pressure foot. Also clip-on waiste bin, small tube of sewing machine oil, a pack of JLx2 serger needles, a pack of Schmetz Univeral needles and coverhem extension plate, Inside the Looper Cover there is a handy storage of tools including pack of needles, small screw driver, tweezers, upper looper converter, needle threader, and needle inserter/lint brush.If I had any critique of the Juki MO735 would be the Instruction Manual. In my research I learned this to be a problem, that the manual is not intuitively laid out. However, there is a threading chart to be found at AllBrands website, if you look at Juki mo735 there. It should have a pdf link to save and download. I found this to be absolutely essential when learning to thread this machine because the diagrams are large enough to define detail which is hard to see in the Juki manual. Once I threaded the machine a half dozen times in various stitch patterns, it was very easy to learn new threading variations. As a promotion through Juki, my machine came with eight additional pressure feet including a blind hem foot, an elasticator, gathering, beading, curve/pearl, cording, and piping foot. Normally, the pressure foot accessories at optional and cost about $185 for the entire set of 8. Maintenace is straight forward. I regularly clean away lint which accumulates easily and oiling is required in two specific places on the upper looper arm. The manual is very clear about maintenance. Finally, to get perspective, I am fairly new to the world of sergers, though have been sewing for many years. I was not in the least intimidated by this machine. As I add more hours using it, I will return to update my experience.

Bosch Compact Plus Health Guard Canister Vacuum Cleaner BSA 2200UC Review

The Bosch Compact Plus Health Gaurd canister vacuum is a dream. This is my first vacuum and I know I made a great choice.

The suction power is adjustable, and man is it strong. I vaccum my short berber carpets on the second lowest setting and get dirt and sand left behind by my former roomate's upright.
It's quiet! I can hold a conversation on the telephone while vacuuming on low suction, the higher the suction selected the louder it gets. But even the loudest it gets is only as loud or quiter than the other machines I've used.
The small size is perfect for the condo I live in. The power cord and hose are long enough to fully clean the largest room and a little beyond.
The cord automaticaly retracts, this is a wonderful feature for those who are tired of winding up a powercord.
It cleans hard floors equally well as carpets. There is a switch on the head to change from carpet to hard surface.
The canister glides along with ease, no tugging the hose to make it catch up.
It is SOOO light. I don't have any problem toting it up and down the stairs, it is only 9.5 lbs. and the two carrying handles are sturdy and comfortable to grip.
The styling is handsome. The ruby red color is more fun than dark blue or black.
The telescoping tube can lie flush with the ground so it is possible to clean under furniture with at least 3 in. of clearance.
With the HEPA filter there are no particles of dust in the exhaust, it is cleaner than the normal air, it is condusive to households with alergies.

To recap, the vacuum is powerful, lightweight, manuverable, cute,easy to use.

This is an awesome product, I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Armamda Metal Caddy with 7 Cups Review

I love this vacuum. The good points:
*It is light (about 12lbs.) and easy to carry up/down stairs
*It is quiet when running (for a vacuum cleaner anyway)

I didn't give it 5 stars because I don't like the way the vac head and the attachments attach to the main handle.You just push them together and hope they hold.There is no "click" or latch to hold them together.I was using it yesterday and the head just plopped off. I had to stop and push it back on, but then it stayed.Also, the replacement bags are a bit pricey, but that's part of the nice air filtration, so I don't mind too much.Overall, it's been a GREAT machine so far.

Heavy Duty Serger Overlock Carrying Case Review

Hard-sided carrying cases for sergers do not seem to be very common (at least they weren't when I was searching for one). Most people likely keep the serger set up all the time and so don't need to store it. I currently don't have a dedicated sewing area, and wanted a hard side instead of a luggage-style soft side case so that it could function as a 'cabinet' when the serger is not in use. This one is just the ticket- it's made to fit a variety of serger sizes, and my Brother 1034D fits inside with plenty of room to also hold a small box of accessories.

Clover Mini Iron Review

My latest quilt was a Sampler Quilt, 140 different six inch squares.Many of these squares had as many as 40+ pieces.This little iron was very handy for these little seams, and very convenient to have right next to the machine. Walking Even Feed Presser Foot Review

I am very upset with this seller. I placed a order the walking foot about a weeks ago and it arrived yesterday. I was excited to open the package because I really wanted to finish my quilt blankit as fast as I can.

MEGA 400 ALL Purpose SEWING QUILTING SERGER THREAD Review

I gave a 3 because it does have a great selection of colors, however I felt that the pictures were a bit misleading, leading me to think that these spools were the same size as serger spools/cones you can buy in stores.Please see my attached photo for a comparison to a 'normal' sized spool of thread.Cannot attest the sewing capabilities of the thread as have not used it for serging yet...hoping it will work on the machine without too much trouble.The thread works well in the regular sewing machine, and I must admit that it is fun having all these colors and have upgraded to 4 stars

Bias Tip- 3/8 Inch Single Fold for Simplicity Bias Tape Maker Review

Too many problems with this machine and the various tips.First, the instructions that come with the machine are horrible.The instructions with the machine for the 1" tip tell you to cut your strip 1-7/8" yet the Simplicity YouTube video states you cut your strip 2" and also says you have to spray starch all the bias seams so that they will feed properly.Gee, like I really want to have to starch every seam in my bias tape?

As another reviewer stated, the tips are too far away from the iron and unfold before getting to the iron. I agree! I haven't tried to hold the tip up closer to the iron, so perhaps that will work, that is assuming you have starched all the seams so they will feed properly.

I got a "deal" on a set of the extra tips, but am really disappointed.ZERO instructions came with these.Have spent way too much time cutting bias tape at "guessed" widths for the tips as they come with NO suggested widths to cut the bias tape.Doubling the size of the tip would make sense, but ONLY if you intuited that from having gone searching for the Simplicity video that says to cut your strip 2" for the 1" tip!The instructions coming WITH the machine and 1" tip say to cut your strip 1-7/8".UGH!

I also found the strips getting hung up at the end of the iron under the cover if the least little bit of a seam hung out or an edge was slightly irregular.

Next, you have 5" to 6" of bias tape that isn't ironed since that's the amount you have to first pull through before attaching the iron cover and turning on the machine - that is IF you follow the machine instructions (written or Simplcity's YouTube video).Several other video reviewers have the machine turned on before they attach the tip....a really good way to get burned in my opinion.

In all, I can't say I can find a reason to use this machine.I'm sticking to my bias barsDritz Quilting Bias Press Bars Set Of Five, and the Clover fusible bias tape makers: Clover Fusible Bias 1/4-Inch Tape Maker, 1 EA

Sew Fast Sew Easy's Hipster 1/4 Circle Flared Skirt Sewing Pattern Review

I've been looking for an easy circle skirt pattern that I could use over and over, and this definitely fits the bill. It took me about two hours to make my first skirt, but I added a few embellishments that made the process a little more complicated. I believe that if one makes their skirt exactly as described in the directions, then it would probably take an hour or so at the most.

The only reason that I don't give this wonderful pattern a 5-star rating is that there are a few little things that could stand to be improved. First, the directions are simple, but littered with amateurish, hand-drawn illustrations. The quality of the illustrations isn't so great and it sort of annoyed me that I paid $12 for a pattern they didn't even bother to illustrate very well. Second, the instructions tell you to choose your skirt length (a very nice feature) but to add 5 inches to this number when actually cutting the material. I found that the additional 5 inches were unnecessary. These extra inches just add an additional step for later, when you would have to hem the bottom up considerably. In my opinion, it would be better to just decide your skirt length, then add only a few inches to allow for the waistband and your bottom hem. That way, you wouldn't have to worry about taking the skirt up later. Third, it's a bit annoying to find out that you have to measure out your skirt length each time you use the pattern. Instead of a more traditional pattern in which you cut against a tissue paper template, this pattern requires a little bit of leg work, though I think that's ok since you can choose multiple skirt lengths depending on your mood.

But those three very small concerns are outweighed by the utility and ease of this pattern. If you're like me and you like your A-line skirts to fall to just below your knees, you could also just measure out your ideal skirt on a piece of muslin, then cut that out and use it just like a tissue paper pattern to save yourself time in the future.

BTW, this pattern calls for using 60-inch wide fabric only, but if you can't find a fabric you really like in that measurement, then you can do what I did. I used the Sew Fast So Easy Pattern, but folded the paper almost in half (not quite in half since I had to take into account a seam allowance of 1/2 inch on each side). That way, you can use smaller width fabrics if you need to. This adds an extra seam to fuss with, but I think the added flexibility of possible materials is worth it.

All New Miele S4212 Neptune Canister Vacuum Cleaner With STB 205-3 Turbo Tool Review

I could not decide between the Polaris and the Neptune...the main difference is that the Neptune comes with a turbo brush and the parquet twister.I just received it today & have been anticipating it's arrival since I ordered it on Saturday...I am crazy in love.I have never owned a vacuum that has setting controls...I cleaned the velvet drapes in room on the lowest setting, works like a charm.I vacuumed all the window sills, door & window moldings, 1731 sq ft of wood floor, bathroom tile & vacuumed the stucco walls in the kitchen.Oh by the way the maids were just here yesterday...I did not care.The house looked perfect but now I know it's perfect.

I vacuumed while my daughter was napping...I could have never done that w/the upright Kenmore I'm retiring.I'm so happy with this purchase.I will update this review in 6 months (writing reminder in my Franklin).Yes, yes love is in the air. XXOXOO

Six months is around the corner.I am still in love.Can I just tell you that my cleaning habits have changed...I once vacuumed once a week maybe twice, since I received my Miele I vacuum every other day (it's crazy I know)I'm so addicted to the clean feeling plus I want to share this scent secret with you...when I change the vacuum bag I put 14-18 drops of my favorite essential oil on cotton ball vacuum it up & every time I vacuum that scent is distributed thru the whole house.My favorite scent right now is Lemongrass by Aura Cacia...so natural.I don't know about you but we have 2 pooches and after a few vacuums you can get a musty rank smelling vacuum air...well the essential oil prevents that smell completely.

Back to the vacuum itself.It really does perform like all the 5 stars it's rated to be.Good luck I hope you do invest in one of these beauties.Your gonna be in love.

Grace Sturdy-Lite Machine Quilting System Review

I have this frame.I bought one that came with a Juki machine.I was frustrated putting the machine base together.It did not come with all the correct bolts.I had to go to the hardware store to get the correct ones.I recommend making cloth leaders, getting bungee clamps and a stitch regulator up front to save your sanity and time in long run.The stitch regulator for this frame and my machine did not seem to work.The roller ball bearing wheels were not big enough to prevent the regulator roller from rubbing on the machine frame so I also had to go to the hardware store and replace all 4 wheels. After all that I was able to finally quilt.

Brother SA224cv Cover Stitch Bias Tape Binding Set for Coverhem 2034cv Review

I selected the Brother SA224CV after reading many other reviews on various coverstitch sergers. I have not tried all the accessory feet I purchased for the machine but the standard stitch has been very fast and easy to use.I have a Viking serger but never used the coverhem features because it took me longer to set up the machine than do the serging.
